Eid Adhah Mubarak
Today, The Day of Arafah, is an Islamic Holy Day, marking when a verse of the Qur'an was revealed that explained that the religion had been perfected. The Day falls on the 9th day of the month of Dhul Hijja (the last month) of the Islamic Calendar. The day after it, marks the Eid-Al-Adha celebration. In fact, one hadith says that ‘Hajj is Arafah’ (Abu Dawud). This means Arafah is the sum and substance of Hajj. The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah have been classified as the best 10 days of the year.
Personally, not being able to attend Eid and the day of Arafah this year with my dear family is saddening and heart-wrenching. I miss all the preparations with my mother and the sound of Takbeer and as we are approaching the last hours of this blissful day, I wish to my dear Muslim brothers and sisters an answered prayers and forgiveness. Use this day to pray and make Duaa as prayers are answered.
Abu Qataibah narrated that: the Prophet said: "Fast the Day of Arafah, for indeed I anticipate that Allah will forgive (the sins) of the year after it, and the year before it.”
